Team Congo (!!!)In the city of Goma, where the streets are lined with molten rock and the volcano still glows red at night, another eruption would be the least of the people's worries. Everyday carries constant reminders of years of the world's most recent, bloodiest war. Though barely publicized, Congo has been in turmoil and between the years of 1998-2004 the number of deaths was unfathomable. The Internation Rescue Committee reported that 1,200 people died everyday because of the war. That's the equivalent of three 9/11 terrorist attacks a week, for seven years. Though a glimpse of peace was seen shortly there after, now again in 2009 the nation falls back into unrest. However, a cry rises from a group of individuals refusing to watch history repeat itself. With unlimited access to Kingdom resources they see Congo not as an impossiblitly with no solution but rather a target for change and an area attracting all of heaven.

This August, Global Children's Movement and Expression58 are partnering once again to stand in the gap against injustice.Moving in radical love and laid down lives, a team will be traveling into the Congo to pursue our daddy's heart. While there, we will be working with groups of women, helping them overcome the trauma of war, with children, empowering them to live from heaven in the midst of their hell and leaders, training them to rise above adversity and pull down kingdom for their villages.

The only hope for the Congo is Jesus and we simply desire to move with him in this adventure. Please pray for us! We will need it. If you desire to partner financially you can send donations to Global Children's Movement with "Congo" attached on a separate note. For more info visit www.globalchildrensmovement.com or www.expression58.org

We are also in need of digital cameras for a photography project with children in bush villages. If you would like to donate cameras or send money specifically for cameras you can mail it to the address below.

Checks or cash can have a separate note "Congo cameras". (All cameras must be received before July 24th) GCMP.O. Box 331Dinuba CA93618USA
